The plant's machines worked in isolation: production data was written by hand at end of shift, no one knew each line's real performance, and a flat network mixed offices with control equipment, with improvised cabling and micro-outages that stalled production.
We segmented the network into IT and OT with an industrial firewall between them, installed managed industrial switches and Cat 6A cabling in an IP54 cabinet with power backup, and connected PLCs, HMIs and sensors to a plant server. On top of that network we deployed the production software that reads the lines in real time.
The plant moved from paper data to a live dashboard: each line's OEE is now visible, downtime is logged with its cause and the OT network is isolated and stable. The same infrastructure powers the production system, so the network investment translates into decisions based on real data.
